Reports on Concorde
(N.Z.P. A. -Reuter—Copyright) PARIS, February 17.
French Government officials have declined to comment on reports in Britain that France has decided to cut by half the production rate of the Concorde, from eight to four a year.
In practice, the rate now varies between four and six aircraft a year. It has already been reported that the Cabinet discussed at its meeting last week proposed modifications of the airliner, to give it a longer range, and thus make it more saleable.
The French, however, are orevented under the BritishFrench Concorde agreement from taking unilateral action on production issues, and the British Government will be consulted.
