Bride may live with husband

DURBAN, February 17.
A Durban bride of a fortnight who was placed under house arrest for trade union activity, has been granted official permission to live with her husband.
Mrs Jeanette Murphy, aged 20, trade union organiser, was banned, together with three young men, and placed under house arrest on February 1, when she was still Miss Jeanette CunninghamBrown.
Three days later she married Mr Michael Murphy, but had to apply to the Department of Justice for permission to live with him. Mr Murphy’s home is in Durban, and, under the terms of her ban, she was not allowed to leave the Pietermaritzburg magisterial district, where her parents lived. Yesterday, the department granted her permission to move to Durban, but she will have to remain in her new home between dusk and dawn.
