Formal permission to members to remove coats, though ties must continue to be worn, was given by the Speaker. Members tabled four notices of motion. Ministers answered eight questions. The Commerce Committee reported the Customs Acts Amendment Bill as ready to proceed with amendments. When the Agricultural Workers Amendment Bill was similarly reported back by the Labour Committee a debate resulted, which produced two divisions, both won by the Government. The Opposition had tried to refer the bill back to the committee for further consideration. The House continued the Address-in-Reply debate.
