\ A Mayfield man last week Isold a half-share in one of I his Romney stud rams to a I purchaser outside the district for $4OOO. I The sale was made by Mr I. R Oakley, who runs one |of the leading Romney studs in Ashburton County. The ram, a one-shear animal which has not yet been shown, will be used by the joint owners at their respective studs. Mr Oakley is known for his successes with his Tresco Stud Romneys at the annual stud ram fairs at Feilding. For the second year in succession, at this year’s sale |last month, he gained the top orice for a stud ram—s43oo. I His animals have taken the I top average price in the sale for four of the last six years.
