Car air filters are important, and dreadful things can happen if they are not serviced. Clogged air filters cause very high fuel consumption, can cause rapid engine wear, and other ills. In some cars, a clogged filter can cause the engine to suck up oil through the crankcase ventilation tube, which gives dreadful running. clouds of smoke, and a rapid disappearance of the sump oil. or very dirty positive crankcase ventilation valve on some engines car. do the same: the oil is sucked straight into the engine. So check all the filters when you decide to roil up your sleeves and deal with the plugs and points. It does matter.
