Last night the last of the ; 270.000 miners walked home ■ from the coal face and safety 0 crews made adjustments they hoped would protect the pits ; from flooding, subsidence and gas for what could be a long ■ spell of idleness. A ban on overtime and rest day working by the miners began on November 12 and forced the Government to initiate a three-day working) ’week to save electric power. l
