WRITTEN tenders are invited for the falling, extraction, segregation, stacking on landing and loading of logs from the clearfelling of roadlines and landings in 44 year old; stands of Radiata pine in Kaingaroa Forest. Formation of roads and stumping of landings by the log hauling unit is required. The following equipment is: best suited for this work: 1. Hauling, stumping and road forming. A track: machine in excess of 160 h.p. 2. Stacking and loading. A) rubber tyred loader in ex-: cess of 80 h.p. The quantity to be ex-| traded is 20,100 tonnes (.71 mill. cu. ft) per annum which | must be extracted at an even ■ rate. Tlie areas to be worked initially are Cpts 154 and 156, approximately 35 miles from Rotorua or Taupo. The contract, starting April, 1974, will be for one year 1 , with right of renewal for a further four years, providing performance is satisfactory. At the end of the first year or on moving to another compartment the contract rate and type of work may be reviewed. The Conservator of Forests reserves the right to negotiate a precise starting date with the successful tenderer. All logs produced will be weighed at Forest Service Weighbridges according to standard Forest Service procedure. Payment will be made four-weekly on a tonnage basis. TENDERERS MUST: 1.
