The section, with a 54-1? year-old house on it, origin- |t ally belonged to the Church (I Missionary Society. The!' Paihia mission station was f established on it by the Rev. r Henry Williams in 1823. On ' one side stands St Paul’s s Anglican Church, the stone building built in 1923 to 1 (commemorate the founding i (of the mission station. The property was sold by t negotiation for a price “in 1 excess of $115,000” after a i bid of $97,000 failed to reach < the reserve price at auction, i It was bought by an agent 1 for a newly-formed Auckland company. The property is zoned resi-!. dential with any develop-!, ment other than housing de- [’ pendent on local body ( approval.
