Floods via satellite
WELLINGTON f.V.Z. Press Association) A news report on the Australian floods led the 8.8.C.’s national television news bulletin on Monday night, but it did not come direct from Australia, the N.Z.B.C. said.
The item was sent by the N.Z.B.C. on the satellite Commonwealth Games link from Auckland. The 8.8. C. sent back a grateful message to N.Z.8.C.T.V. on Monday morning, the statement said. The effort meant that the flooding was seen by up to 30m British television viewers. The N.Z.B.C. is also to supply Visnews, the largest newsfilm agency in the i world, with a five-minute report on the flooding.
