Gramatan may win at Waikato

"The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. Gramatan and Armbrose First are fancied for the T.A.B. double on the second night of the Waikato Trotting Club’s meeting at Claudelands tonight.

On the first night, when a warm favourite, Gramatan caused a sensation by faUing at the start. It is unlikely that a similar misfortune will befall him again and in view of his highly promising form beforehand he deserves to be the favourite again. At his last start before the Waikato meeting, Gramatan was third to Arapaho and Young Quinn in the Waikato Breweries Hying Mile- at Cambridge. Before that, he was a close third at Alexandra Park.

His main opposition is likely to come from Paul Gentry and Jack Robinson. Paul Gentry showed that he was rapidly regaining his best form when he finished strongly for third on the first night. Jack Robinson had his second win on end when he scored in runaway fashion at Tauranga last Saturday. An overdue win could come the way of Armbrose First in the second leg, the Arthur Wheeler Memorial Free-for-all. He was second at Tauranga for the third time on end. Good Sport, third at Tauranga, Max Brydon, and Parisian 1 Duchess will also carry solid support. Fields are:—
