Plane sights yacht
f.V.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 28. A search for the sloop, Bear Balou, was called off when the yacht was i sighted in Tory Channel I about midday today. The yacht was sighted by ■an R.N.Z.A.F. Devon from Woodbourne. The plane had spent most of the morning
looking for it. The Bear Balou was on a trip from Kaikoura to Picton and had left Kaikoura on Saturday afternoon. Though no real fears were; ; held for the yacht’s safety, it, iwas decided to mount a I search. As the weather in the area 1 had been good over the last few days, the Marine Department had not classified the; boat as officially missing when it was found.
