Exhibition of arts

A special sale and exhibition of Maori carvings and New Zealand arts, crafts and paintings will be held today in Sumner.

The exhibition has been organised by the Save the Children Fund workers in Sumner and Redcliffs. The work, including tea towels and table mats featuring New Zealand motifs and scenery, will be on sale.

A special feature will be genuine Maori carvings and canework done by Maori craftsmen at Paparua Prison. Ten per cent of the funds from the sale of these will go to the Save the Children Fund.
