Bags rubbish collection

A changed policy for the collection of rubbish at Banks Peninsula bays popular with holiday-makers was adopted by the Akaroa County Council. As from next Christmas, the council will remove the 44-gallon drums, which have proved unsatisfactory. All residents will be supplied with paper bags, to be left at specified spots for collection. At domains used bv campers, the council will offer domain boards supplies of bags for collection by the council, or the boards may continue to use drums and collect them. The county engineer (Mr K. A. Paulin) said he would discuss the problem with the boards. Perhaps the boards could supply bags to campers. Chelsea reversal.—The English first division soccer club Chelsea Jias re-signed the Scottish international, Charlie Cooke, for ‘.17.01)0. Chelsea sold Cooke to Crystal Palace for £85,000 15 months ago. Last week Chelsea sold the mid-tield player. Alan Hudson, to Stoke Citv for ■'240.000
