The swearing-in of a Goviernor of Grenada failed to take place as planned yesterday, and demonstrations continued 'against the Government, of the Prime Minister (Mr Eric Gairy). Mr Gairy told a public meeting on Thursday that a new Governor—the successor to Dame Hilda Bynoe, who resigned in the face of similar demonstrations a week ago—would be sworn in yesterday morning. But the morning passed without even word on the name of the new Governor. Mr Gairy was reported to be awaiting the British Government's approval of the man he has nominated «for the post. About 15,000 to 20,000 people—almost a fifth of the population—marched through the capital, calling for the Government to resign. The demonstrations began last November in protest against alleged police brutality,
