This position authorises him as acting I bishop during the absence of the Bishop of Christchurch. Archdeacon Plaistowe was ordained in Bristol in 1935. He served in Eng1 lish parishes for 13 i years before coming to > New Zealand in 1948 to be vicar at St Peter’s, Palmerston North. 1-In 1953 he was appointed •I vicar of St Mary’s, Timaru, and Archdeacon oft r; Timaru, where he re-; mained until 1963. vicar of St Mary’s, , Merivale. jin 1968 he was appointed Archdeacon of Christchurch and deputy vicar-general, and in 1971, vicar-generai and archdeacon emeritus. He will spend his retirement in Redcliffs.
