More test cricket telecasts likely
The N.Z.B.C. has good news for cricket followers. There is a distinct possibility that the test between New Zealand and Australia will be the subject of further direct telecasts by satellite tomorrow and on Thursday. The telecasts probably will be of the same duration as Sunday’s transmission. Exceptionally keen interest has been shown in T.V. coverage of the match. The N.Z.B.C. in Christchurch has received a welter of inquiries since the admirable fare served up from the second day’s play at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Today and tomorrow there will be ample coverage of the Plunket Shield match between Canterbury and Otago at Dunedin. “Grandstand" plans to present an hour’s piay from 4 p.m. as well as the final 30min. on each day. Alan Whicker, too, will be in a sporting mood when he continues his journeythrough the Orient this' evening. He will devote thei programme to Thai sports.

Underwater programmes, especially the Jacques Cousteau adventure series have proved popular with a broad cross-section f v.ewers. Robert Brown, the star of “Here Come The Brides', will play the role of Primus, an engineer and inventor who is also described as an “underwater trouble-shoot-er”. One of the most acceptable afternoon programmes last year was “The Doris Day Show". Only a month after the end of the old series, on December 12, a new series will be launched next Monday. It will consot of 24 episodes, and John Dehner will again share the honours with Doris Day. Other personalities in the pipeline are John Surtees, the racing driver, and Burt Bacharach, the composer.
