Top tip bid
An Ankara businessman, Mr Salih Canal, has paid 751,000 Turkish liras ($34,785) for a year’s supply of the city’s rubbish. After putting in the top bid at an auction for the rights to all rubbish on the municipal tips during 1974, he. declared: “It’s a bargain.”- — Ankara. January 7.
