Lockeyer, as both swam inside the world record for the women’s 800 metres freestyle at North Sydney Pool on Saturday nightMiss Turrall swam eight minutes 50.1 seconds to clip .2.9 seconds off the world record set by Miss N. Caligaris (Italy) in the world swimming championships at Belgrade last August. She won by six inches from Miss Lockeyer, aged 14, whose time was Bmin 50.3 sec._
