Boat owners fight fire

River this morning, crossed ’ the river to help Forest Ser2 vice men fighting the fire. Mr W. Gerling-Butcher, the 5 fire control officer, said ’ favourable winds prevented 1 the fire from reaching the pine trees inside the boundtjary trees of the forest. He gisaid the fire started from a ■. fishing party’s illicitly-lit boni fire, which was left burning 1 overnight. 5
