A plague year
Cristotano and the Plague. A study in the history of public health in the age of Galileo. By Carlo M. Cipolia. Collins. 188 pp.
Carlo M. Cipolia. is professor of economic history at the University of Pavia and at the University of California at Berkeley. He has written a study, lavishly annotated, of the plague of 1630, from the point of view of the town of Prato. This will be useful, no doubt, for students of this period.
