Aust. steel prices
The Australian Minister of Labour (Mr Clyde Cameron); said yesterday that any jus-: tified increase in steel prices resulting from new wage awards must be seen as “the price the community must pay for wage justice for lower-paid workers.” B.H.P. is reported to be preparing a case for higher steel prices because of the pay rises, which, it is estimated, will add s2Bm a year to its wage I bill immediately, and s3Bm by next December — Canberra, Jan. 4.
