B.H.P. costs jump

Steelworkers at the Broken Hill Proprietary Company, I Ltd, have been awarded pay I rises which will add s2Bm to its annual wage bill immediately and s3Bm by next December, the Sydney “Morning Herald” newspaper reports. The agreement was reached I in the State Industrial Com-' mission as a “package deal,”! which the parties agreed would last for two years. A B.H.P. spokesman said a price rise was inevitable, and said the company was preparing an application to the Prices Justification Tribunal.
