Tractors on the beach
Sir,—l am surprised that I “Old Timer,” of Purau, could
r have counted 10 tractors on J the beach. As a regular cams per at this popular resort, I can count only five to six , tractors. These polluting mon-| i sters have been, on more than • one occasion, the means of j saving boats and people in I ! trouble and I can assure ‘‘Old > j Timer” that the drivers of s these vehicles show the utmost consideration to all '.beach users. At no time have pl seen, or even heard of, children or bathers being harassed by these “polluters i Hof the beach and air.” 'jSurely, if the powers that be .■gave some urgent consider- : ration to the building of a b®at 1 ; ramp in the area, these \ ' monsters would almost disappear and leave the pollut- ■ ring to other li persons who persist in i “ throwing tins and bottles into the water, thus causing four nasty injuries so far these ■ holidays.—Yours, etc., ' NON TRACTOR OWNER, i r January 2, 1974.
