Four suspended at Auckland
I (N.Z. Press Association.> AUCKLAND The Judicial Committee of the ! Auckland Racing Club yesterday 1 suspended four jockeys, when ! the Centennial meeting at El- ' lerslie ended. They were T. R. Harris, who was given the severest penalty M. I J Green. N. D. Landers, and L. ! B. Cavanagh. At an inquiry adjourned from the second day of the meeting. Harris, the rider of Pulsate in tile Ardmore Handicap, was found guilty of causing interferi ence to Hi Fujin and Fearless Fred near the 1400 metres and was suspended up to and including February 28. I In fixing the penalty, the com- [ mittee told Harris that it conI sidered his breach, serious in I that it had almost caused a fall. I Harris had also been before the i committee only a few months j previously, and it was consid I ered that a deterrent penalty | should be imposed. I At an inquiry adjourned from ! the third day, Cavanagh, the i rider of Hi Fujin in the Resolu I tion Handicap, was suspended !up to and including January 12 I for causing interference to Gold , Dip and Counter Point near the ‘ 1000 metres. N. D. Landers, the rider of Dee j Light in the Railway Handicap, also on the third day. was suspended up to and including January 25 for causing interference to Sharif soon after the start, and to Marinoto near the 800 metres.
M. J. Green, tile rider of Harleigh Blows in the New Year High-weight, run yesterday, was suspended up to and including February 15 for causing interference io Springlo near the 1000 metres.
