Magistrate’s Court Remand in custody
• - -• . . A man was remanded in custody until today when he; • appeared before Mr E. S. J.' .Crutchley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yeterday on ! charges of threatening to kill, assault and wilful trespass. , Trevor Ernest Cowan, aged 33, a freezing worker, was alleged to have committed the offences on January 1. No pleas were entered. ASSAULTED WIFE William Hamilton Hill, aged 54, a process worker, was convicted and remanded on bail to January 9, for a medical examination with a view to a sentence of periodic detention when he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault- • ing Margaret Ross Hill on January 1. Sergeant Harlick said that the defendant arrived home at 9.45 p.m. and after talking • to his wife struck her with his fist. She fought him off and ran to her neighbour’s where she telephoned the •police. She suffered bruising! to her hand and face. |.
