NEW CHCH AMBULANCES
Two new ambulances, costing $13,000 each, are expected to be in service in Christchurch this week.
The new ambulances are V 8 automatics. The engine and chassis are American and the coachwork was done in Christchurch.
They will replace two older veh cles used by the Christchurch sub-centre of the St John Ambulance Association.
The redesigned interior of the new ambulances was expected to provide a more comfortable ride for patients, said the subcentre’s station officer (Mr G. F. Whittaker).
