Flight turns back
[ A National Airways Corporation Viscount airi craft returned to Christchurch airport yesterday I afternoon soon after taking 'off for Invercargill, when it I was found that the undercarriage mechanism would not function and the landing gear could not be retracted. The flight was cancelled and all passengers were put aboard a later flight to Dunedin, from where they continued their journey to Invercargill by road.
