CO-OPERATION RECOGNISED
(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU, Dec. 26. “The Government is very cheered with the cooperation received from motorists in maintaining the 50 m.p.h. speed limit,” said Sir Basil Arthur. Minister of Transport and member of Parliament for Timaru, on Caroline Bay this evening. Sir Basil Arthur was speaking at the opening ceremony of the Caroline
Bay Association’s annual beach carnival. He said the efforts of motorists were helping greatly in the fuel crisis. Sir Basil Arthur also expressed a general “thank-you” from the Government to the 7000 to 8000 holiday-makers present, for their work and co-operation over the year. “You have all earned your holiday,” he said.
