WHAT YOU CAN DO A few general hints on how to drive the car to save petrol. • Push the choke control fully home as soon as the engine will run Without its use. • Avoid rapid acceleration. • Switch off the ignition if a long delay is anticipated due to road obstructions, etc. • Avoid stop-start journey motoring; plan your journeys so that the engine is kept hot. • Drive in accordance with road conditions; anticipate obstructions, road junctions and sharp corners; adjust speed to suit these conditions. • Avoid heavy braking; decelerate gently whenever possible. • Use light pressure on the accelerator pedal, particularly if your car has an automatic gearbox.
