More State aid
<.V Z Prrvt Association) WELLINGTON. I The Government has approved a further increase in State aid to certain private' schools for the 1974 school year.
Three weeks ago a 30 per cent increase in teaching sal-1 aries to these schools for the; 1973 year was announced. On Tuesday the Minister of Education (Mr Amos) said it I had become clear that the: schools would be subjected to j increased financial difficulties ■ in the 1974 year. The Government had now approved an increase for 1974 to 32L per cent of State salary costs. “This will apply onlv to those schools whose salary, and staffing standards do not, exceed those in State schools.” said Mr Amos.
