First T.H.C. profit
Preliminary results for the year ended September 30 indicate that the Tourist Hotel Corporation made a small net profit for the first time. Mr N. Coxhead, of Timaru, the chairman, said that although the results to hand were provisional and subject to final adjustment and audit, the trends were most encouraging.
But while forward bookings for the peak months were well up to expectations, uncertaintv over the fuel situation both at home and overseas precluded long-range forecasts, he said. Hotel profit improved by $315,671 over the previous year and sales revenue rose from $7.83m in 1971-72 to $9.07m.
