P.R. director to retire

Wing Commander H. K. Griffiths, director of public relations for the Ministry of Defence since 1971, will retire next week. His successor, Commander R. E. Williams, who has been naval operations officer with the A.N.Z.U.K. Force in Singapore since 1971, took up his position in Wellington on Tuesday.

Wing Commander Griffiths joined the Army in 1950, and served in Korea with K Force. Later he joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force public relations staff. In 1966, he was appointed director of public relations for the Ministry of Defence. From 1968 to 1971, Wing Commander Griffiths was the military information officer in the South-East Asia Treaty Organisation in Bangkok.
