Carol-singing sessions
Christmas carol sessions will be held on the stairway in the foyer of the Town Hall on two occasions before | Christmas. I The sessions, organised by! (the Christchurch branch of: the United Nations Association, will be on December! 20 and 21 from 12.15 p.m. to: 12.45 p.m. Mr W. Woodley has arranged and will be conducting the choir and small orchestra. National societies have been invited to attend and wear traditional costumes. The president of the branch (Rev. J. D. Grocott), said there would be seats available for senior citizens and handicapped people, and invited the public, especially new immigrants, to attend. “This Christmas activity brings Christchurch in harmony with a well appreciated practice in the United: j Nations buildings in New! |York, as well as in other j world centres. It is a witness j to the recognition that while: Christchurch is a multi-: cultural community, we are! united as one people,” he said. I The branch held a similar: session last year.
