PLEA FOR MILLS’S ADDITION
jl (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The 1966 Commonwealth 1 Games weight-lifting 5 champion, D. C. Oliver, > yesterday sent a telei gram to the Amateur 5 Athletic Association, urging the nomination of L. ! R. Mills for the 1974 i Games team. , Mills, second in the shot put at the recent New Zea- ’ land championships, was ’ not nominated for the '! Games team, which will be announced in Wellington on Monday evening. Oliver’s telegram sent to the athletic association in Wellington said: : “Please consider the addition of Les Mills to earlier Games nominees. Such confidence will: 1“I. Win the Amateur Athletic Association much public gratitude; “2. Give field athletes greater encouragement for their 1 1 future selection. a " “3. Enable Les again to con--11 tribute much to fellow J athletes and offiicals as well as render a creditable performance in the shot put.”
