CONVICTION FOR ESCAPE

tN.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Dec. 12. A young woman was con--victed and discharged in the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of escaping from Mount Eden women’s penal institution. Ann Marie Orlowski, aged 21, was in custody at the prison on December 5 for a medical report to be made. She then decided to leave, Mr Mooney, S.M., said. In the circumstances, she absconded rather than escaped, said the Magistrate. “It is also clear she needs medical treatment, and she has been returned to Oakley Hospital.”
