Floods in Malaysia
Wide areas of six states tn northern Malaysia are immersed in heavy floods today, and more than 36.000 people are reported to be homeless. Officials say that I four people have died in the i floods, which swept away ’roads, crops, and buildings ;in the states of Kelantan, Trengganu, Pahang, Perak, Kedah, and Perlis. Food, blankets, and medicines are being rushed to the stricken areas by air, and the military, police, and Civil Service have been put on the alert throughout the country. — Kuala Lumpur, Dec. 11.
