F.O.L. talks on Kraft

(.Veto Zealand Press Association 1 W ELLINGTON, December 3. A Federation of Labour delegation today had more talks with the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Moy lei and the Minister of Finance (Mr Rowling) on the take-oxer of New Zealand Cheese, l td. by the multi-national Kraft company.

After the meeting the president of the F.O.L. (Mr T. E. Skinner) said the F.O.L. had now been invited to meet the Dairy Board for talks on the proposed take-over. Mr Moyle would get : further reports on the whole 'situation and this would be (followed by more discussions between the F.O.L. and the Government.

Asked what the attitude of the F.O.L. to the take-over, Mr Skinner replied: "We’re opposed to it. "We don’t think this kind of organisation should come in and have control over any section of our primary indusDENIAL The meeting today followed claims that approval of the Kraft take-over was forced on the Dairy Board—claims which were dismissed as "absolute and liter nonsense” bv the board's chairman (Mr A. L. Friis) last night The denial has come amid growing opposition from both farmers and unions against the take-over of New Zealand Cheese, Ltd. the manufacturer of Chesdale cheese Although the Dairy Board has given the nod to the deal, the Government still has to give its approval.
