Bridgevale improved
The unaudited pre-taxi profit of Bridgevale Consoli-| dated, Ltd. for the half-year! Ito September 30, • was] 1511,267 compared with $7200 in the corresponding period 'of last year, the chairman '(Mr T. M. Scanlon) reports. Although profit increased, total ~roup turnover fell 5.7 per cent to $606,753. The fall in turnover was due mainly to the shortage in supply of vehicles to the motor division where results have not been as satisfactory as last year.
The transport division had been profitable in the year Ito date, in contrast to the I losses incurred in the two previous years. The directors have decided however, that as a,matter of future policy, they will takej advantage of any opportu-j nities to reduce the group’s; : investment in transport 'operations.
