Wool prices up
British buyers are paying 224 per cent more for Australian wool than in 1966-67, the managing director of the International Wool Secretariat (Mr Kenneth Clarke) told the Australian wool industry conference in Sydney today. Mr Clarke said that, compared with the 1966-67 prices, and in terms of national currencies, Germans were paying 80 per cent more, Japanese 118 per cent, Australians 136 per cent, French 151 per cent, Italians 179 per cent and United States buyers 199 per cent. —Sydney, November 22.
