RECITAL IN CATHEDRAL
A recital of early English music is to be given by the Cecilian Consort in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament at 8.15 p.m. on Sunday. The consort will present a variety of vocal, ensemble, and solo items by sixteenth and seventeenth-century composers, including a Mass by William Byrd, and the first local performance of excerpts from Purcell’s “Ode on St Cecilia’s Day.” The consort will explore the acoustic qualities of the cathedral by performing items in various parts of the building.
