(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. The South African veteran golfer, A. D. Locke, has' withdrawn from the New[ Zealand open, which begins! at the Manawatu Golf Club’s [ course next Thursday. Locke was to have stayed in Palmerston North with the former New Zealand champion, B. M. Silk, who said yesterday that Locke had returned to South Africa after playing in Australia. No reason was given for Locke’s withdrawal. Gymnastics. — The Bulgarian Maria Gigowa, winner for the last two years, and Glima Shurgova (Russia) shared first place in the individual fouf-event contest at the world modern gymnastics championships at Rotterdam. Both girls scored 37.85 points.
