r.VZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 18. A man had his arm ripped open by a metal pipe with razor blades welded to it during an assault in a Wellington hotel early last evening. The victim, a seaman from an overseas ship, required 30 stitches between the shoulder and elbow of his right arm. He was treated at Wellington Hospital. The assault happened in a passage between the main bar and the bistro bar of the Royal Oak Hotel in Cuba Street. Police rushed to the scene but the offender had disappeared when they arrived.
