Prices mainh unchanged < Trading conditions on the Smithfield market last week were basically unchanged from those of the previous week, the Meat Board reports. Beef continued to enjoy a good demand and values remained firm at previous levels. The seasonal decrease in supply and deterioration in the quality of home-killed lamb was more noticeable and as a result realisations improved for the reduced number of better qualitx lambs. New Zealand lamb continued to be well received, with values improving for reduced pitchings of available grades. Demand for pork remained steady throughout the week.
