Footpaths jammed

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter — Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 14

Footpaths outside Westminster Abbey were jammed by dawn on the bright autumn morning of Princess Anne’s wedding day today. Most of the vantage points close to the Abbey were taken during the night.

Four thousand policemen, including armed detectives, were involved in tight security precautions. They confiscated all vacuum flasks and sandwich tins from the crowds along the route, taking no chances of bombs or other weapons being concealed. Earlier, the crowd had been warned to remove all sleeping bags and overnight bags before the procession began.
