Petro-chemical refinery

Five companies, including a Japanese firm, are to set up the petro-chemical refinery at Redcliffs, in South Australia, it was announced in Canberra by the Minister for Minerals and Energy (Mr Reginald Connor). The project, which would have 51 per cent Australian equity, was being established by a consortium comprising 1.C.1., Alcoa, Mitsubishi and associated companies, CSR, and Ampol, he said.
