(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE. A Japanese offer of $500,000 for the stallion. Gala Crest, has been refused by his Melbourne owner, Mr P, Curtain. The offer for Gala Crest, sire of the Melbourne Cup winner, Gala Supreme, is one of the bigtrMia I”** 1 ”** 1 * * «talllon in Aus“I gave the sale a lot of thought, but decided against it,” Mr Curtain said. Gala Crest aged 11, has served 50 mares in his career at the stud. Of the 10 horses to represent him on the race track, seven have been winners, His best son besides Gala Supreme is Australasia.
