Discussions on grants
Members of the New Zealand University Grants Committee spent most of yesterday meeting University of Canterbury authorities. The chairman of the committee (Sir Alan Danks) and members discussed the fiveyearly grants to universities with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Canterbury (Professor N. C. Phillips), the registrar (Mr G. G. Turbott) and other university authorities. Last evening the committee met members of the University of Canterbury Council. The discussions will conclude this morning, after which there will be similar discussions at Lincoln College.
