Decision on Skylab

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) CAPE CANAVERAL, Nov. 10. The director of the Skylab programme (Mr William Schneider) will decide tomorrow whether the problemstricken Skylab 3 will lift off next Thursday, or five days later.

Technicians have hoisted the 5001 b stabiliser fins into place to replace the damaged ones which have delayed the launching. Hurriedly • rigged wind screens around the Saturn rocket’s base have shielded work from very high winds, but only one of the replacement fins has been put firmly in position so far. Yesterday, a further delay for the launching—originally to have been today—arose when technicians discovered that replacements for the eight cracked fins showed roughness and uneven paint.
