McMurdo Station, waiting for! a helicopter to take them into the valley. It took them 21 hours using : three tracked vehicles to I cross the sea ice of McMurdo’ Sound to reach Marble Point for the helicopter uplift. Two twin-turbine helicop- \ ters were taken to McMurdo I Station on Tuesday in a | Military Airlift Command' Starlifter and the first was! test-flown on Wednesday. Thei helicopters are expected to! move the drillers to their new! site this week-end.
