(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright? j STOCKHOLM. October 18. The 1973 Nobel Prize for Literature was awarded today to the Australian novelist, Patrick White. The Swedish Academy, in awarding the $BO,OOO prize I to White, said that he had’ introduced a whole new con-’ tinent into literature. His latest novel. “The Eyej oi the Storm,” was published i this year, and among his' other best-known works are’ “Voss" and “The Tree of Man.” The Nobel Prize for Econ-’ omic Science has been. awarded to Professor Wassily Leontief, of Harvard Univer-! sity.
